The Shining

This is a fascinating exchange of letters and ideas between two titans in their field; filmmaker Stanley Kubrick and designer Saul Bass, regarding the design of this legendary poster for The Shining. The rejected ideas are all interesting but none fit with Kubrick's brief of 'terror (a must) and supernatural (if possible)' or have such a powerful impact as the idea they eventually settled on.
