Top Music Videos of 2013

I find Pitchfork's roundup of the years best music videos is always pretty spot on and a good place to catch up with some I may have missed. And great that they include a few unofficial vids too.. I love the shredded Get Lucky parody and the live version of Arcade Fire's Afterlife directed by Spike Jonze and starring Greta Gerwig.

It's been an exciting year for the music video. As well as the ground breaking interactive work for Arcade Fire I discussed a few posts back there was this piece made by Vania Heymann for Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone. The viewer is invited to channel surf their way through the song as everyone on each of 16 channels - newsreaders, actors, contestants etc. lipsyncs to the song.

My favourite music video of the year is Kijek/Adamski's Katachi for Shugo Tokumaru (above). Amazingly original despite being created just with card and scissors.
