Good Time, the Safdie brothers latest feature
Uncut Gems is relentless and chaotic, with a hyper charged career best performance from Adam Sandler as gambling jeweller Howard Ratner. It's not an easy watch with over lapping dialogue, verite style camera work and discordant score (once again by Daniel Lopatin, a.k.a Oneohtrix Point Never) all adding to a panic attack inducing whole that is vulgar and grotesque and yet also addictive, mesmeric and strangely beautiful.
