There are two sublime moments on the new Kanye West album Yeezus. A 15
second burst of the Mary Choral Family's He'll Give Us What We Really
Need during opening track On Sight and at the end of A New Slave the
distinctive falsetto of Frank Ocean plays out over an obscure sample
from Hungarian band Omega. These moments are the only respite during an
opening four songs of intense ferocity and it's this contrast that makes
them really stand out. I like it when I hear a
sample that is so powerful it instantly makes me seek out the original
source track.
