Ray Harryhausen

The film industry lost one of it's true innovators with the passing of Ray Harryhausen earlier this month. 

There is something magical about all of Harryhausen's creatures. In the way they move and the expressions on their faces. The love and passion he had for his craft is evident in every frame of his epic body of work. It was the unreal quality of his work that to me seems key to it's power. He said himself, 'If you make fantasy too real I think it loses the quality of a nightmare, of a dream'.
